Reports have been circulating of a civil war simmering within the highest ranks of Eagle Forum, a non-profit political activism organization founded 44-years-ago by the matriarch of the American conservative-nationalist movement, Phyllis Schlafly. This story may be on the verge of exploding.
The 91-year-old Schlafly, long renowned for her rock solid principles and foresight, recently threw her full support behind Donald Trump, stating that he is “the only hope to defeat the Kingmakers.” Shortly afterwards, devout Cruz-Bot board members began plotting her overthrow – including her own daughter, Anne Cori.
Shortly after Schlafly’s endorsement of Trump, Eagle Forum board member, Cathie Adams, gave an interview with the Dallas Morning News, in which she stated –
“We have no respect for that man. [Schlafly’s endorsement] is going to be widely dismissed… When you’re 91 and you’re not out with the grass roots all the time, it is very much taking advantage of someone.
If we were going to be asking Ted Cruz about the platform, he would be able to give us a wonderful dissertation on each one of those plans. That is the caliber of the man. Where with Donald Trump he says he going to bully people, negotiate with people, he’s going to have good people around him. That’s it. And that is going to make America great? Really?”
The eagles will speak at the polls. The majority of leaders across the country are Ted Cruz supporters. I am one of those. I still think he is the only person that can beat Hillary Clinton.”
On April 10, Ms. Schlafly released this statement –
In an exclusive interview with Jerome Corsi at World Net Daily on the following day, Schlafly elaborated –
“This may be my Dobson moment… The six board members calling today’s telephone meeting won’t tell me what the meeting is about, but I think it’s an attempt to vote me out. It’s disloyal and it’s terribly shocking, and I’m completely depressed about it. I may be one vote short to win today.
This is a complete takeover attempt. I think the leader of the coup is my daughter Anne Cori and her husband at Eagle Forum of Missouri. I think she and her husband want to take over the organization.”
Corsi later published an update, after Schlafly narrowly survived the coup attempt –
Her son, John Schlafly, treasurer of Eagle Forum and a board member, told WND she will not resign and is resolved to “fight it out” to keep control of the organization.
A statement issued by Phyllis Schlafly said that at 2 p.m. CDT on Monday, six directors of Eagle Forum met “in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting.”
Schlafly said she objected to the meeting and at 2:11 p.m. was muted from the call. She said the meeting “was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me.”
The six board members, she said “are attempting to seize access to Eagle Forum bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.”
According to Corsi, there are millions of dollars in play.
On today’s broadcast of the Alex Jones radio show, top political operative and investigative reporter, Roger Stone – whose uncanny ability to predict future revelations and unveil ‘inside baseball’ bombshells has been on full display for the entirety of the 2016 presidential campaign cycle – dropped this bombshell (34:45 mark):
“It’s a hijacking by a gang of goons, and as will be proven very shortly, this plot to get Phyllis reaches all the way to the top levels of the Cruz campaign.”
The appearance by Stone was followed immediately by Jerome Corsi, who will be releasing the findings on this scandal very soon. He confirmed that he is researching these same allegations, and is calling for a serious investigation (15:00 mark).
“It will be my lead story tomorrow. I am going to start off with what Roger Stone just said on your program – that this is orchestrated at the highest levels of the Cruz campaign. There is literally millions of dollars – I’m not even sure how much is in the endowments of Eagle Forum… Every one of these six women who are in the renegade board group have pledged their support to Cruz. They can control Eagle Forum and depose Phyllis Schlafly. They can change the mission of the society. They can grab all of the money that’s there… It’s appalling to me.”
